JOHANNESBURG:

Post the JSE listing of the Motus Group Limited (Motus) during November 2018, the division responsible for itâ??s aftermarket operations and brands will effective April 2018, and trade asMotus Aftermarket Parts (MAP). Previously named Africa Automotive Aftermarket Solutions, the division will continue to be responsible for the positioning and implementation of the Motus aftermarket parts strategy.

Motus traces its roots back to 1948 when its founding company, Imperial Holdings, started as a humble motor dealership in downtown Johannesburg. Imperial listed on the JSE in 1987 and grew into one of South Africaâ??s largest diversified conglomerates.  In 2017, after a strategic portfolio optimisation and realignment of Imperialâ??s businesses, MOTUS was created as a separate holding company for all the automotive businesses within Imperial

Excited by the transition and the opportunities it creates, Malcolm Perrie,  Motus Aftermarket Parts (MAP) Chief Executive Officer says; â??Our team has deep industry knowledge and a proven track record in being market leaders within the automotive value chain, while our companyâ??s name has changed, the services and expertise across all our trading entities remains the same.â?

MAP brands include market leaders such as Midas and Alert Engine parts and will continue to build on their strong positions within the automotive sector of Southern Africa. The name change allows for continued focus and alignment of aftermarket operations and people within Motus and no material business operational changes are foreseen.
